"Fresco" International Festival is coming back

"Fresco" offers to hold a completely new format different from the rooted perceptions of community. A festival, whose aim is not only screening films which are of spiritual character, but also organizing healthy and free public debates on the issues raised in the films.

The films brought to Armenia will be taken out from the cinemas and literally will go out into the street. Outdoor exhibitions and "without ticket" film screenings will become an integral part of the Armenian's everyday life for 9 days long. Common chairs will be replaced with special pillows, what regards the local and foreign official guests of the festival, instead of being "unavailable heroes" they will be next to the audience and will temporarily be their companion friends of film-recognition.

One part of the festival, tent film camping will be held out of Yerevan, this year in Harichavank. Tents, music, film corresponding to the location and organized discussions around a campfire.

The festival includes feature films and documentary, animation and short films in different formats, where wars, violence, ethnic, religious and any other kind of discrimination, environmental disasters caused by human factors are condemned, and... peace, tolerance, humanism and other universal values are preached.

The festival also gives special importance to the work with specific social groups, especially persons with a limited ability. Thanks to the cooperation with specialized agencies, persons with disabilities will participate not only in all events of the festival, but will be also actively involved in the organizational activities of “Fresco”.

The symbol of festival in the form of fish awards are specially made by the children of “Specialized Children’s Home of Kharberd”. The organizers of "Fresco" festival are "Formica Art" company and "Rainbow" NGO, which is held with the blessing of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
